Sigma Phi Epsilon National Philanthropy Affiliation
YouthAIDS and Sigma Phi Epsilon have joined to create an HIV/AIDS campaign across campuses in the United States. Together YouthAIDS and SigEp will work to educate college students and raise funding for YouthAIDS programs.
History of the Partnership
In August 2003, Sigma Phi Epsilon, the world's largest fraternal organization with 257 chapters and over 13,000 undergraduate members and 246,000 lifetime members, formed a partnership with YouthAIDS. The YouthAIDS / SigEp national partnership will serve as a platform for American youth to become involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS by educating their peers about this important health issue. YouthAIDS has developed comprehensive educational materials, including tailor-made public service announcements (PSAs), print materials, fundraising tools, and other educational resources to be delivered to each SigEp chapter. In addition to the upbeat educational outreach efforts, all SigEp chapters will hold a variety of events on their respective campuses to raise funding and awareness for YouthAIDS prevention programs.
The brother at Texas Kappa Chapter holds an annual SigEp Tri-State tournament every spring where each SigEp chapter from across the nation competes in a softball tournament and also the sororities competes with each other.
